The Mental Health Tech (MHT) provides direct care and supervision for assigned patients. The MHT is involved in all aspects of the patient's care, from getting up in the morning to getting ready for bed at night and continual monitoring while the patient sleeps. The MHT assures patients are safe, are aware of basic rules and expectation, provides guidance with self-help skills required for everyday life. The MHT is a role model for patients, demonstrating effective problem solving and decision-making skills. Assists with recreational and therapeutic activities, transports patients to and from medical appointments, assures that patient's participate in scheduled treatment programming, and provides assistance in school.
